Google removes Map Maker after incident with peeing Android male – Latest News

Google Map Maker created the app to let users themselves make adjustments in Google Maps. There were however some pranksters abuse of obscene objects to place on the maps. The service was therefore closed and will only be re-launched if it is completely waterproof.



Google has in recent weeks been repeatedly embarrassed by some embarrassing incidents with their new app Map Maker. Which was originally created to make people self-data, such as new areas and streets, adding to let Google Maps. Especially in relatively unpopulated and less developed regions because the cards were not very detailed. Google therefore engaged the help of the users themselves.

however, did not take into account some smart Internet users who could exploit the app. In April, for example, was already an Android male urinating over to see the Apple logo on their cards. That same hacker also placed in a park in the shape of a smiling face.

Earlier, someone pulled a joke out of the White House in Washington. As a user had a store for winter sports added to the building named “Edwards Snow Den ‘, referring to NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.

The jokes are still circulating on the Internet, but have since been removed or Google Maps. The company apologizes for the errors that appeared and adds that the online maps normally be accurate and reliable. The Map Maker was today taken offline. The company is trying to improve the system currently so poor interventions such as above jokes are less easily available and more quickly detected.

The tool will only come back online when it is completely waterproof. And it will make it so be done with jokes.
