The most common problems include damage to the screen, a fast dying battery or not functioning buttons or sliders. Nearly 10 percent of all smartphone owners appears to have a broken screen.
Young people often have a broken device. One in three 18- to 24-year olds has a faltering smartphone. In 25 to 45 year-olds that about three out of ten and over-45s is the only one in ten.
Especially screen damage is more common among 18 to 45 year olds than -45s
