Uber-ceo gets out of the advisory board Trump – NU.nl

Uber founder and ceo Travis Kalanick gets out of the council that the American president Donald Trump advises on the economy. He has his staff Thursday in an internal e-mail on the informed.

The taxi service is under fire due to the decision of Kalanick to work together with the president. Added to this is that Uber is alleged to have benefited from the strike of taxi drivers in New York protest against the entry of Trump.

Employees of the authority reason and vomiting, thus the strike. That led to the campaign #DeleteUber. Users removed Uber and moved en masse to competitor Lyft.

Kalanick sat on the advisory council with approximately twenty major entrepreneurs, including Elon Musk (Tesla and SpaceX) and Ginni Rometty (IBM). “Participation was no support from the president or his program, but unfortunately it is designed in such a way” wrote Kalanick in the mail to his staff.

He added that “immigration and openness to refugees is an important part of the success of our country and of Uber”.
