Reported Meteo Group. KNMI predicted earlier pretty much cloud cover across the country.

While there are clouds fields invade from the North Sea, it seems the eastern half of the country to keep them protected. Especially in Brabant, Gelderland and Limburg, but also in parts of Zeeland, Utrecht and Overijssel will see the eclipse probably be good.

The eclipse begins Friday at 09.30. The moon moves slowly than the sun. The largest coverage of the sun is at 10.37 am. The Sun is in the Netherlands for more than 80 percent covered by the moon. Then the moon moves slowly then again at 11.48 am the eclipse is over. Should it still be cloudy, the eclipse will make it a little bleaker and darker than normal.

Unprotected to watch the eclipse is moreover not recommended. An eclipse glasses can prevent major and lasting damage (blindness).

It is the greatest eclipse in Europe since 1999. The next time we may see a similar eclipse in the Netherlands in 2026.
