KPN and Vodafone stop data collection after line through retention – NU.nl

Spokesman Stefan Simons KPN said Wednesday in a statement that the provider stops the execution of the law. He says the decision also applies to subsidiaries of KPN, such as Hi, XS4ALL and Telfort.

KPN says to take measures to ensure that the provider “to the new situation” meets. This means, in practice, in that data that is not needed for the normal operation are ultimately will be removed.

Removal

Niels Huijbregts, spokesman for XS4ALL, said Wednesday all data is no longer recorded. “The machine is off and the cabinet is locked, so no one comes in.” Previously collected data according to him, yet not removed because the State is still possible appeal. Should the government win such appeal, the removal would not be reversed.

The small providers BIT and Tweak stopped storing data. Other major providers say the sentence of the court to study yet.



New retention
