Microsoft wants Windows 10 smartphones with updates faster – NU.nl

That company said during a presentation at the WinHEC conference. The goal is to roll out updates within four to six weeks for all devices, and there are users with ‘delight’.

Currently, it sometimes takes months before certain devices get an update. The so-called Denim update for Lumia handsets example was already issued in December, but is currently still not available for all devices.

In order to make this process faster Microsoft will accompany its partners so that they to meet tight deadlines.

Windows 10 will be rolled out this summer. In the first year after the release of Windows 10, the system will be available as a free update for users of Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1.
