100 Amsterdam subject for smart card on your smartphone – Parool.nl

The Municipal Transport Company (GVB) is in Amsterdam test whether the mobile phone can be used to check in and out in public transport. Hundreds of Amsterdam will join the pilot.

They receive a special SIM card in their smartphone, allowing them to use the machine to pay. Check-in time than by the smartphone to be brief at the terminal in the bus, tram or metro, just the way it goes with the smart card. The smartphone is then visible or the traveler is on or checked out.

The CFP works for the pilot with smart card manufacturer Translink and telecom company Vodafone. Earlier this year, TransLink had already Parool know to look at the opportunities around mobile-Out.

The pilot in Amsterdam will start soon. A successful roll-out of the three companies will also introduce the rest of the Netherlands service
