Support for Microsoft in defending EU data – Telegraaf.nl

A group of 28 large tech companies has rallied behind Microsoft in the refusal of the Windows maker to hand over data stored in Europe to the US government. Include Apple, Amazon and eBay to find that data must be protected by privacy regulations of the country where the data is saved

.

Microsoft recently came diametrically opposed to the US government as the company email data Europeans refused to hand over. A judge in New York gave the company refusing a slap. Data from European customers is stored by Microsoft in Ireland and the company believes that therefore data should not be accessible to US government agencies.

In addition to the 28 tech powerhouses know Microsoft is also supported by a group of scientists, media companies and privacy advocates. Among others, CNN, The Guardian and European Publishers Council ruled against US access to European data .
