Huawei sells this year twenty million Honor Phones – NU.nl

Honor director Jeff Liu late to Reuters know that the sales will come this year to twenty million copies.

That’s 25 percent of the eighty million smartphones Huawei this year aims to sell. Honor is an independent subsidiary of Huawei in December 2013 which was officially separated from the main brand. Previously existed in China already have a Huawei smartphone line called Honor.



At the end of October Honor was launched in the Netherlands and several other European markets. Huawei Honor calm phones with high specifications and a low price. Thus it will compete with the Chinese Xiaomi also.

Also the online strategy of Honor Xiaomi has looked good. Both companies sell their phones only through websites. This could be through their own website or an online store, but not in physical stores. Thus, the distribution costs are much lower.



Developed countries

Despite the low price suggests Richard Yu, head of the consumer division of Huawei that Honor and Huawei will be in the developed focus countries. “If Huawei is to survive, we need to developed markets such as Europe win for us. Next year is very important for us to focus on the high end.”

Liu did not have much to say about how Huawei earns twenty million sold Honor phones. “Honor is running no loss, but also makes a profit,” he said only
