Microsoft may be working on the development of a new ‘lichtgewicht’ Internet browser. ZDNet reports that based on anonymous sources
.
The program would have been given the codename Spartan. Spartan is not a substitute for Internet Explorer, but is said to be put alongside the familiar Web browser from Microsoft in the market.
Spartan must support extensions and would move in appearance and user experience toward Firefox and Chrome, which is currently the most popular browser.
Windows 10
The new browser comes standard with mobile versions of Windows 10, expects ZDNet. The desktop versions of Windows 10 would get both Spartan as Internet Explorer 11
The technology site does not preclude Microsoft Spartan already on 21 January to present at the preview event for Windows 10
