This was reported by Microsoft that this works with bitcoinverwerker Bitpay. It is not possible to pay directly with bitcoin. The digital currency can be used to top up the balance on a Microsoft account.
It is not known whether the possibility also comes to the rest of the world. That seems plausible considering many other companies previously bitcoin accepted in the US, and then to have the ability then to roll out internationally.
For the bitcoin the embrace of Microsoft is a major step towards recognition. Governments are less keen. As Dutch court ruled recently that bitcoins only as a bargaining chip to be seen, not as money.
