Stephen Elop cleans the field by Microsoft – Financieele Dagblad (Registration)

Stephen Elop go to the US software company Microsoft and technology group. Which Microsoft announced Wednesday.

The Elop born in 1963 applied for some time as a possible successor to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, but mail was pardoned last year by Satya Nadella. The new CEO comes from its own ranks of Microsoft, he was head of the cloud and enterprise division.

Elop worked between 2008 and 2010 already at Microsoft, only to go to Finland’s Nokia. Under his leadership was first Microsoft operating system coupled with Nokia devices. Then Nokia’s ailing mobile phone division was moved in its entirety from Microsoft.

With this transaction Elop moved along, then to lead the integration of the Finnish section within the American group. Microsoft sells these devices now under the Lumia brand.
