Google opens division for ‘smart city life – Telegraaf.nl

Internet giant Google has created a new division, called Sidewalk Labs. This component will focus on developing and acquiring new technologies to make life easier in a city

.

According to the Company former Bloomberg CEO Dan Doctoroff director, Sidewalk Labs should contribute to a smarter city. As exemplary he gets in front of the New York Times the bike part program in New York to which all inhabitants to a group of bicycles can use in the city.

Sidewalk Labs will next Google X exist, another experimental division the search giant. Both are aimed at directly developing new products, but most have a long-term vision where people work towards.

Some general goals of the new division will be to improve the (public) transport in cities, Reducing energy and housing costs to bring down. Sidewalk Labs has in any case a good place: the division is based in New York.
