Windows 10 installed over 200 million times – PC

Windows 10 has been installed over 200 million times. That’s almost twice as much as in October, when the OS was put 110 million times on computers.

This allows the website WinBeta know from sources inside Microsoft. The figures are known yesterday, just five months after the initial release of the operating system.

1 billion devices

Microsoft wants Windows 10 within three years stand at one billion devices. These are not just desktops, but also mobile phones, tablets and Xbox’en. The company therefore has little time.

Aggressive sales techniques

A possible reason for the doubling of Windows 10 machines is the aggressive way Microsoft is forcing users to upgrade. The (free) upgrade is blocked in Windows Update in Windows 7 and 8, but even when users manually turn off comes on yet again. Thus, many users “accidentally” switched without which they themselves want.

We wrote last month called on Microsoft to stop the forced upgrades.
