LG launches hub for smart home appliances – Telegraaf.nl

LG Electronics unveils next week at CES gadget fair in Las Vegas hub for smart home. The cylindrical SmartThinQ Hub connecting smart sensors and Internet-connected devices in the home

The LG Hub will both form ALSN function reminiscent of Echo Amazon. As both devices have a built-in speaker, and can serve as a virtual assistant. However SmartThinQ Hub has more opportunities on board.

So on top of the cylinder is a 3.5 inch color screen. Through a corresponding smartphone app smart devices and sensors can send alerts to the screen. The LG SmartThinQ platform supports Bluetooth, WiFi and Zigbee.

The hub can in turn communicate with the smart gadgets and sensors in home. Thus, users can set via the hub when the smart washing machine needs to trip. Obviously this can be done via smartphone app, but in a house with several residents may be convenient to arrange everything from a central point.
