Rare visit griffon vultures attracts a lot of attention in Alblasserwaard – NU.nl

It is rare that the animals can be seen in the Netherlands.

The Raptors were Saturday afternoons been spotted near Zwijndrecht, reports RTV Rijnmond. The news spread rapidly among bird watchers.

The birds come around this time of year, especially in Spain, Portugal and France. Presumably the scavengers, which have a wingspan of more than 2.5 meters, ended by a warm southerly wind in the Netherlands.

In summer, a group of vultures was signaled in a meadow in Friesland.
