accelerate iPhone by reducing motion

It has long been possible to reduce the animations on your iPhone, thanks to the “reduce motion. You will then see fewer animations when you start apps and browsing screens. Beginning in 2016 it was discovered that your animations could reduce even further by a simple trick that can be seen in the video below. Unfortunately, it no longer works with devices running iOS 9.3.2.

Clever trick over Assistive Touch

Normally, you turn the animations in the following way: through Settings & gt; General & gt; Accessibility & gt; Reduce motion . You could, however, further reduce the animations, so discovered a user of Reddit.

It worked like this:

  1. Go to Settings & gt; General & gt; Accessibility .
  2. Turn the switch to Assistive Touch on green.
  3. Now go back to the home screen by pressing the home button. Drag the Assistive Touch icon as far as possible to the right.
  4. Create a Spotlight search by swiping down on the homescreen. Once the Assistive Touch icon is above the keyboard, tap the screen to close Spotlight again. You have to repeat several times until you find the right timing. You will see that Spotlight is suddenly much faster. The trick is now active.
  5. Create some apps, to see if there are animations are noticeable. If not, repeat the previous step until you get it working.
  6. You can then disable Assistive Touch.

The iPhone was immediately faster. Once you restarted the iPhone, the animation returned and you had to go through all the steps.

AssistiveTouch: also handy if your home button piece is

Unfortunately, the trick with AssistiveTouch does not, but the function can still be useful for many applications. So it is a solution to control your iPhone as your home button is broken.
