NASA succeeds in blowing up extra room space station – NU.nl

The attempt started around 22:35 hours Dutch time and after more than seven hours, the ISS had a new room the size of a tent from 4 to 3.5 meters.

The Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM) will be tested for about two years. With sensors tracked include the amount of radiation, the average temperature and the possible impact of wandering debris.

The next week, it is checked whether everything is airtight, the following week the new room will for the first time enter . It can be folded compact and take less space. That’s a big advantage on long space journeys, for example to Mars
