Tent
Once fully inflated, the new space the size of a large tent, about 4 to 3.5 meters. One of the advantages of the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM) is that it can be folded very compact and takes up less space in a rocket towards the room.
Test
the crew of the ISS, the BEAM to test the next two years. With sensors tracked include the amount of radiation, temperatures and the possible impact of wandering dirt. The crew would have to first enter the compartment on June 2.
Mars
NASA looks with BEAM already beyond the ISS. If the module is found to withstand the harsh conditions of space, can frxr be useful in a possible mission to Mars.
