Pronunciation, ethnic profiling is cloth for the bleeding’ – NOS

The position of the Hoge Raad (HR) on ethnic profiling is ‘a sham’ according to lawyer Christian Flokstra. “The Council said today that police-not purely on the basis of external characteristics, but no single agent writes that into his notebook.”

Flokstra is the lawyer of two defendants from the case, and gave notes on NPO Radio 1. The two men were at a traffic control caught with a kilo of weed in their car. The duo was first acquitted in appeal, but the case should now be over.

The High Council finds that the police car is standing are entitled to keep under the guise of a traffic management if agents suspect that there is more going on than just a traffic violation.

That the two suspects, a Surinamese and Eastern European background, the agents according to the High Council to bring in their consideration. However, it should not be the main reason. Find Flokstra an admission of weakness.
