Less and less young people have Twitter on smartphone NU.nl

reports That market research company, Telecompaper Sunday. In October last year had 35 percent of the Dutch population between 12 and 19 years of Twitter on their mobile, last month, it was only 20 percent.

If looks to Dutch in all age groups, the decrease is less rapid. In October last year, had 26 percent of the Dutch Twitter on the smartphone, in October this year it was 22 percent. In absolute numbers, lost Twitter more than 250,000 mobile phone users in the Netherlands.

Apps like Instagram and Snapchat are doing very well among young people. In a year’s time, the number of 12-19 year olds with Instagram 8 percent to 78 percent, while Snapchat with 7 percent increased to 75 percent of the young people.

Disappointing growth

Twitter had in the third quarter was again a substantial loss record. The social network made it known therefore around 350 jobs are to be deleted, especially in the sales and marketing teams.

The social network with short status updates, and is struggling already with a disappointing growth of the number of users, where competitors like Instagram and Snapchat an increasingly larger audience to reach.
