“Intel will stop making wearables’ – NU.nl

Intel bought in 2014 smartwatchmaker Basis and a year later the Chinese Recon, a company that wearables for sporty types. Both companies were housed in the New Devices Group, a new wing, which focused on wearables.

In August, had to be Intel all the Basis Peak smartwatch recall. The devices could overheat. Right after that was a stop in production introduced. The smartwatch is never for sale in the Netherlands.

Intel has not yet responded to the messages, but would be a number of employees have informed that they their jobs before the end of the year is lost.
