Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and 3.0 (Honeycomb) get a latest update of Google Play Services. Then end Google support and many apps are no longer on the age old Android versions.

After this 10.0.x-update is over and out for the Android versions and brings Google’s only Play Services updates for Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and higher.
Millions of Android 2.3-devices
Android 2.3 was almost six years ago, was introduced and about, according to Google still on 1.3 percent of the active Android devices. That is not much, but still going to be millions of (mostly cheap) smartphones. Who get it within a few months to do with non-working apps, like the non-popular Android 3.0 Honeycomb version.
Google’s decision to support for these Android versions to stop is understandable: they are huge old and can’t handle new features that the latest Android version, 7.0 Nougat, involves. Those who have an Android device with version 2.3 or 3.0, so it’s best to switch to a device with a newer version.
