Chip maker Qualcomm introduces a new processor (SoC) for wearables. The Snapdragon Wear 2100 is a great improvement compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 400. Thus, this new CPU 30 percent smaller than the 400 and has a 25 percent higher energy efficiency. Smart Watches can result not only thinner but also more powerful.
The Snapdragon 2100 is a quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz and has a maximum screen resolution of 640 * 480. Almost double compared to the Snapdragon 400. Two variants are available. One with bluetooth / wifi and the other with both Bluetooth / WiFi and 4G connectivity. Of course getting the Wear 2100 NFC, GPS and the new charging technology Qualcomm Quick Charge.
According to sources, LG has come a long way in the development of a first smart watch, running on the new Snapdragon Wear 2100. It is the first wearables by the end of the year with this new chip to come to market.
