Google stops photo service Picasa – NU.nl

The decision to stop using Picasa came after much deliberation, Google wrote Friday in a blog post.

Google does not want more money and time stabbing into two separate services. Photos, according to Google smarter and more comprehensive.

Users can switch to Google Photos, where all photos and videos are available from Picasa. Who does not want to work with that software, can view the images on another web page, download or delete.

Google begins on May 1 with transferring data from Picasa Web Albums.

Who uses the computer software Picasa for managing photos and videos, can continue to do so. Google promises to March 2016 to issue updates
