Some developers have found a bug in iOS iPhones can disable if you set the date of the unit on January 1, 1970.

Improbable bug

if the date of his or her iPhone by setting up iOS 8 or higher on a certain date could therefore make his device unusable. By some tricks you can set your iPhone that he thinks it is January 1, 1970, then the machine can not boot and there is nothing left to do.

It is not possible to bygone date so to set, the year 1970, namely initially in the options if you want to choose a date. The infamous date is only an option if you feel first far terugscrolt as possible, then click Back, and then is an option again so far scroll until January 1, 1970.

Resolution

full recovery of an affected iPhone or iPad does not help, completely drain the battery, however, seems to be a possible option. The bug affects all devices with 64-bit processor, so the iPhone 5S or later, and the iPad Air or later. Also, iOS 8 or higher is required. The bug was discovered by a hacker on Reddit, Apple has not yet responded.
