Acer Liquid Zest hands-on – All About Phones

BARCELONA – Earlier today, we have owned the Acer Liquid Zest, a smartphone of about 100 euros for the 3G version and € 150 for the version with 4G. In this hands-on we are going to discuss it briefly.

Acer has recently become the market leader in the segment of smartphones under 100 euros. Meanwhile, the Taiwanese manufacturer has a market share of 23 percent in that category and that is not so strange; Acer delivers beautiful devices for a low price. The latest addition to the segment up to 100 euros, the Acer Liquid zest. With an expected retail price of 99 euros for the 3G model in combination with a prepaid card this is a device to look forward

White pearl gives the phone its unique character

Design

the unit has the latest level much like the recently presented Liquid Jade 2. the phone is made of hard plastic and finished with a brushed steel motif . The unit is comfortable to hold and it does not feel cheap. The Acer Liquid Zest is not too heavy, but you definitely feel it in your pocket. Acer has chosen him to make both white and black available and although the back of the device a white pearl-like glow that stands out is positive anyway we prefer the black version. The front of the white device in fact be just black, which makes it seems like you white case to have pasted a black device. White Liquid Jade 2 is moreover well everywhere white and with that device, we prefer also for the white version

Average specs

the device runs on a quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.3GHz and the screen has a 720p resolution. Combined with the format that is equal to 294 pixels per inch. The screen brightness is fine and the unit reacts quickly enough. Because most devices we have had until now held at the Mobile World Congress flagships his notice that it is slightly slower to switch apps, open the camera and zoom in and out on photos. Also falters Liquid Zest sometimes a bit. But for a device in this price range that is more than acceptable. The memory of the Acer Liquid Zest is 1.5 GB and 32 GB storage memory which is expandable with a micro SD card. The Acer Liquid Zest in the Netherlands has a dual simcard slot. In Belgium, the appliance without a dual-sim. The 4G model of the Liquid Zest is clocked at 1Ghz, but by a modified chip layout that device groefweg as fast as his little brother with 3G.

No internet required for navigation

Navigation

Acer also makes this unit using AcerNAV, a navigation system that they have set up in collaboration with Tom Tom and the phone certainly gives a little added value. A touch of Dutch pride in an excellent device. The need for an Internet connection is thus also of the job, which is very useful when you are much abroad and will not be hunted costs.

 Acer Liquid Zest 5
White edges to a black device

Surprisingly good sound from the front-facing speakers

Camera & amp; Noise

The camera on the back has a resolution of 8 megapixels and reacts fairly quickly. On the front we find a 5 megapixel camera with a wide-angle lens that ensures that fit more people on your selfies. The forward-mounted speakers Acer then the phone surprisingly sound good and this has made a good choice in our opinion

a good second gear for traveling

Conclusion

the Acer Liquid Zest Acer has again a beautiful device in the lower segment put the smartphone market. The navigation is definitely a unique feature which in our opinion makes it a good buy. The price of less than 100 Euros and the dual-SIM option is for some possibly a second device abroad. This can also be navigated without charge.
