Microsoft allows developers first order HoloLens – NU.nl

Developers are invited to order the HoloLens for $ 3,000, Microsoft wrote in a blog post.

The unit is shipped on March 30 developers in the US and Canada. It is unclear whether developers in other countries will also have the opportunity to buy the glasses.

The glasses are equipped with PC hardware and therefore works without connecting to a single PC. The fully wireless HoloLens runs on Windows 10 and has a specially designed holographic processor (HPU) in addition to an ordinary Intel processor.

The seat is equipped with 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and both Bluetooth and WiFi. In addition, the HoloLens has a motion sensor, a light sensor, four cameras that recognize the environment and a camera that can perceive depth

Clicker

The HoloLens goes according to Microsoft intensive use two to three hours with a single battery charge. The glasses come with a so-called Clicker. That is a device with a single button for people who have difficulty with hand gestures.

There are several apps as standard on the HoloLens, including Skype, design program HoloStudio and crime game Fragments . The HoloLens can run hundreds of apps from the Windows Store, but there is no special support for holograms.

Microsoft has not announced anything about a consumer version of the HoloLens. Presumably appears only when developers have expanded the app offer for the glasses, and if the cost of the device have declined further
