It generally well-established ZDNet reports based on anonymous sources that delaying the Windows 10 Redstone 2 Update is related to the introduction of new hardware. This new hardware must be supported by Windows 10. For some hardware this is unclear, but the update is likely only in the spring of 2017.
This means that we only get one big Windows 10 update this year, should this update published in June this year, this update is called internally Redstone, but with the addition part 1. part 2 was actually planned for this fall and should appear in November, but Microsoft is therefore not likely to pick up.
Redstone Update 1 is primarily the Universal Windows Platform underway. The update should make sure that the platform works better at all different form factors. In addition, Microsoft probably meet software developers will have criticized the platform. So game developers complain that the platform is currently too limited and that they should demolish many features from games because they do not work properly.
The update should also go there for sure that the Windows Store will be available on the Xbox One. That is the only platform where the Windows Store are not currently working. Furthermore, the update will provide better support for apps that are converted from Win32 and iOS apps to Windows 10 apps.
Microsoft currently has too many problems with Continuum, although the idea good and the base is working. Continuum is the platform where you can use your smartphone as a PC is not yet fully stable. The big question is whether those problems in the first update will be resolved or until the second update.
It is not entirely clear what kind of improvements will bring the second update and what effect it has on new hardware . Perhaps Microsoft is going to give a little more openness during the Build conference. The Build conference will take place on March 30 of this year.
