Microsoft Takes keyboard app on Swiftkey – NU.nl

That confirm the makers of Swiftkey Wednesday. The company would not reveal financial details, but insiders report in front of the Financial Times that $ 250 million would have been paid for Swiftkey.

Swiftkey is one of the most popular keyboard apps for iOS and Android. The app came out in 2010 for Android, four years later for iOS. Swiftkey will just continue, but the team will become part of Microsoft.

Microsoft, according to the insiders are not so much interested in the keyboard that makes Swiftkey, but especially the artificial intelligence behind the app interesting find.

At the end of 2015 the company released a new keyboard that runs on an artificial neural network, at any time try to predict what a user wants to write.
