Too many schools struggling with slow internet – Telegraaf.nl

Too many schools are experiencing a bad internet connection. Thereby threatening the coming years 900,000 pupils become devoid of modern education. That made the PO-Raad, the importance of primary education organization, announced Monday

.

“Thousands of students there already experiencing . They can therefore not benefit from modern and challenging education, “according to the interest. PO Council calls on the government, the provinces and municipalities to make quick work of connecting all schools to fiber networks for fast internet. The council is working with State Secretary of Education Sander Dekker but that there is “no funding to put”.

“A quick Internet with sufficient bandwidth is crucial for good and modern and tailored education,” says Rinda den Besten, chairman of the board.

But connected to the fiber network is a costly affair if schools have to pay for it yourself. Many institutions that do not have modern communication can not afford it often. According to research 59 percent of schools are not future-proof and affordable high-speed internet.

At the same time schools are increasingly using computers and digital learning materials. These materials can adapt to the level of the student. “A child that extra exercise needs can therefore extra practice while his classmate who need more challenge, which can get,” said PO Council
