Qualcomm announced a new CPU for smartphones, the Snapdragon 820. That chip, according to the company’s 40% faster than its predecessor, and is intended primarily for virtual reality applications.
The CPU operates with the Adreno 530 GPU core. Finally, the chip is intended to come into phones to focus on virtual reality. These units work together with inexpensive VR goggles like the Google Cardboard.
Smart cars
Ultimately, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 also work in cars. There is now often the used one and a half year old Snapdragon 602A, but the 820 must later with an upgrade also be fast enough to fit in smart cars.
Virtual reality
It seems too soon 4K phones are coming in the future, which is particularly a result of virtual reality. 4K resolution is not very useful for normal use in a smartphone, but for displaying VR images is such a resolution be needed. 4K is also needed, a strong processor, as many smartphones are now still hot and too slow when playing long games or videos in virtual display.
