MassVet analyzes the apps do not. They are compared with applications already present in appwinkels. According to the researchers, most malware is in fact repackaged apps. These are existing applications which are manipulated by malicious persons and are equipped in this way with malware.
MassVet analyzed 400 000 apps on Google Play. Of those, 30 000 (7.6 per cent of the offer) infected. According to the researchers, this differs with figures of Google.
