Microsoft has a few isolated projects and programs are merged in a new research group, who focuses on research into artificial intelligence. It is the fourth major division within Microsoft, after it previously had a Windows, Office and Cloud-group set up.
This new division will consist of 5.000 computer scientists and technicians, who all focus on ways to artificial intelligence (AI) to integrate into consumer products. GeekWire says that Harry Shum, Microsoft’s head researcher, lead the new division. The group works to products such as Cortana and Bing.
That Microsoft divisions are merging and will particularly lead to a faster development and deployment of AI applications. Shum asserts itself in a statement that "innovation in the field of AI has not come from isolated research labs, but from a combination of production units that actively work together".
Microsoft is working hard on the road when it comes to the implementation of artificial intelligence. More and more applications make use of smart algorithms, which are services to allow the behavior of specific users to analyze and the service then to adjust. So is artificial intelligence to voice assistant Cortana, as well as search engine Bing.
also try to use Microsoft together with four other major technology companies critics on the rapid development of artificial intelligence to silence. To this end, the companies have the so-called Partnership on AI was established, which is looked at safe uses of KI.
