“Drones offer a tremendous opportunity in the fight against mosquitoes,” says scientist Ken Clarke against ABC.
“They make it possible for us to access areas that otherwise we find it difficult to reach. At many breeding sites of mosquitoes in the marshes and swamps we have hours of walking to small pools of water to check for the presence of mosquitoes.”
According to Clarke, the drones eventually also help with the destroying of mosquito larvae.
“The final stage in destruction is to think of ways to larvicide in the small pools of water that the larvae can be killed. Larvicide is in small pieces available and one drone can have several of these pieces at the same time carry.”
