Microsoft Office 2016 is now available for Windows – Techzine

Microsoft today released Office 2016 for Windows, the package was already a few months available for Mac OS X, but Windows users can also get to work. The Office Suite has all the familiar applications of Office and they have all been given the necessary updates.

Office 2016 consists of World, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, OneNote, Project and Visio. All these applications have been updated with Office 2016 so that they again are completely up to date. The previous version dates back from 2012, which was Office 2013.

The main improvements in this version is the ability to work on the same document with multiple people, obviously the document must then be stored on a shared resource as OneDrive. This feature existed until now only in the Web version of Office, but now also in the desktop applications. Users receive an instant message or view direct comments appear in documents such as team members or colleagues to change something.

In Excel 2016 adds the capability to publish the data to Microsoft Business Intelligence BI Power program. With this you can then convert the data into beautiful visual images and graphics. Or, as Microsoft says, it brings your data to life.

Of course, Skype is part of Office, Skype for Business is fully integrated with Microsoft Office 2016. Furthermore, the Help function is replaced by a new “Tell me” function, it should be better able to answer users’ questions and will try in the case of Excel directly to the appropriate commands to dish.

Obviously, the integration with Office 365 again expanded and there are necessary new business applications. There is a preview version of Office 365 Planner, which plans can be made to work with teams and there is a preview version of Gigjam, a type of application for completing tasks but with a very different approach. Also OneDrive for Business has been modified with new synchronization features. Finally, Microsoft announced that it has further increased the security, not least at the time of cloud computing. As there is in multi factor authentication for added firms with personnel who work outside, and later this year Enterprise Data Protection comes with support for Windows 10 Office Mobile. This enables companies to securely share data across locations and devices.

Anyone with an Office 365 subscription can upgrade for free directly to Office 2016, which is included in the subscription. Office 2016 with Office 365 to purchase immediately for 69 euros a year on one device and 99 euros per year for five devices. People who want to purchase Office 2016 release still need to have some patience, at this point the package is not yet commercially available in the Netherlands. Soon, the package will be available and free of Office 2016 Home and Student 139 euros (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote), Office 2016 Home and Business 269 euros (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) and Office 2016 Professional 539 euro (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access).
