For the first time brings together two Google Nexus phones. The smaller Nexus 5X was created in collaboration with LG and larger Nexus 6P in cooperation with Huawei.
Nexus 5X
The successor to the Nexus 5 has a screen of 5.2 inches and appearance is not changed very much compared to its predecessor.
The device is slightly thinner, because the bulge at the back is removed. Once again, is chosen for a housing made of plastic material, whether the material used is something else. The test unit in matt black felt solid, but did not have the grip of the material used on the Nexus 5. The housing of the 5X is made of two pieces, so that a slit is in the side. That looks a bit sloppy.
However, the Nexus 5X is light and compact, because the edges are small screen. For a middle class device the device has a good build quality, and the US gets 5X therefore a reasonable price of $ 379. Reportedly, the Dutch prize, however, are much higher, at 479 euros. For that price we actually expect a better device.
The same applies to the storage capacity, with 16 GB on the low side. The unit had at least be equipped with a slot for an SD card, but LG has again omitted

However, the Nexus 5X has a Full HD screen that has great quality at first sight. The Snapdragon 808 chip under the cabinet is expected to lead to rapid performance, and during the test, there are never any glitches.
In addition, the 5X is equipped with a fingerprint scanner on the back that works well and quickly. When setting only six touches needed to recognize a finger, and then unlocking the device is very fast. The Nexus Imprint’ scanner seems to work at least as fast as Apple’s Touch ID or competing Android fingerprint scanners.
The 12.3 megapixel camera seems to stand his ground. In the dark test room were few good photo opportunities, but several test images were crisp and clear about. Google showed itself extensively on the small pixel size of 1.5 microns as a sign that the Nexus Camera is of high quality. That will still need to confirm a more comprehensive test

Nexus 6P
The Nexus 6P Huawei has the same camera and fingerprint scanner, but packaged it in a larger aircraft with better housing.
The device has a screen size of 5.7 inches and is certainly not suitable for people with small hands. The 6P is more compact than its predecessor, the Nexus 6, but it’s still a hefty knoepert. Fortunately, the edges of the screen rather small like the 5X.
The Nexus 6P is a lot better finished than its smaller brother. The housing is made from a single piece of aluminum with polished edges. The camera is in a black bar that protrudes very slightly from the housing. That not everyone will like it, but I did not personally disturbing

The unit fits comfortably in the hand and is surprisingly light for a large device with a decent battery of 3450 mAh. The screen with a higher resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, looks fine.
The device uses a Snapdragon 810 processor with 3 GB RAM. In previous phones has ensured that chip overheating and performance issues, but it was during the test, nothing to notice. After the apparition will show whether these problems are solved at all.
The Nexus 6P appears in contrast to 5X with at least 32 GB of storage, though even here the missing support for SD cards.
Both Nexus phones have the advantage that they run directly on the bare newest version of Android, the version name Marshmallow. Unfortunately, the new features of this system were not yet tested. For example, the smart assistant Now On Tap not yet worked. On previous Nexus phones took the standard version of Android in any case always smooth performance, and the rapid availability of updates for Android lovers is a big plus.
The Nexus 6P gets in the US retail price of 499 dollars, but will reportedly cost at least 649 euros here. The device seems to be (strong) price to justify better than the Nexus 5X. The finish and specifications at first sight good enough to be at the top of the market
