Kepler-452b is according to NASA a “bigger and older cousin” of the earth. The planet is in the habitable zone alongside another sun-like star in the constellation Cygnus.
The planet appears to rotate about the same distance around its star as the Earth around the sun. Kepler-452b does 385 days to rotate completely around its star. Moreover, the star seems largely to our sun. She is about 4 percent more massive and 10 percent brighter than our sun. The star is older than our sun, 1.5 billion years.

Also, the temperature of Kepler-452b is similar to that on our planet. Based on the size of the planet, NASA scientists also suspect Kepler-452b is rocky. On the planet would be able to flow water because it is located at the correct distance from its ester. Running water is one of the basic conditions for life.
Of all the planets discovered so far seems Kepler-452b closest to the Earth, NASA’s manager John Grunsfeld decided at a press conference. “This exciting result brings us one step closer to the discovery of an Earth 2.0.”
Because the newly discovered planet is older than our earth, it is interesting for scientists to investigate further. “This planet will certainly be examined in greater detail, including in the context of the search for extraterrestrial life,” Marc Van den Broeck responds by Urania observatory
There is, however, not to go traveling in it.: “To go there is not really an option, because it is a long time travel, even at the speed of light.”
