Hormone levels of transgender youth, unlike many supposed, equal to their birth gender. This is shown by the initial results of a study that transgender American researchers of a children’s hospital in Los Angeles writing today.



“This means we finally dispel the outdated view that a crooked hormone balance caused the transgender identity,” says lead researcher Johanna Olson. Still, people think that boys who would have a girl naturally feel more female hormones and vice versa in girls who feel a boy.

The Children in the metropolis on the West Coast handles most transgender youth in the United States. The study examines the safety of hormone therapy in 101 transgenders between 12 and 24 years. Olson has set itself the goal of transgender youth “let live rather than survive.”
