CBP: Google improves privacy by pressure – Dutch Newspaper

THE HAGUE (AP) – Google has improved its privacy policy in recent months, under threat of a penalty which CBP had imposed the Internet company. That privacy watchdog CBP (Dutch Data Protection Authority) reported Thursday.

Google has already taken a number of measures applied, according to the CBP. Thus, the Internet company has updated the information in its privacy policy and make it clear that Google video site YouTube is a Google service. The company also asks new users who create a Google account now for permission to combine their personal data.

Google combined personal data of Internet users, including for showing targeted ads to users. This happened without the Internet Google informed enough about beforehand and without the company asked permission.
