A team of Mongolian and Japanese scientists made the discovery in the gobi desert. In the same neighbourhood are three footprints found.
The print is 106 inches long and 77 inches wide. Probably belongs to the print to a Titanosaurus. This herbivore with a long neck, a length of over twelve meters and a weight of 13,000 pounds.
According to the researchers, is the layer in which the imprint was found between 70 and 90 million years ago formed. The print is believed to arise due to sand ended up in the print on the muddy ground.
“This is a very rare discovery”, let the concerned university of Okayama know. “It is a well-preserved fossil print including traces of a claw.”
