Rotterdam’re not Internet voting in residential referendum – NU.nl

The Rotterdam City Council voted Thursday unanimously against the possibility of Internet voting, after had noted experts on potential security and privacy issues.

Aboutaleb wanted to vote citizens of Rotterdam with their DigiD account, in a dedicated online environment. He wanted to have some physical voting locations arrange for people who have no DigiD.

In the past, several security problems DigiD come to light, and a DDoS attack on the system could bring the whole referendum. Moreover, in line choose not guarantee that people will not be under pressure when they cast their votes.
