the design Moto G4 Plus will win any prizes. Not that it’s an ugly phone, but it’s all very average. The phone has the familiar black rectangle with a fingerprint sensor underneath the 5.5-inch Full HD display. The standby and volume buttons are on to find regular places and of course there are cameras on the front and back there.

Hardware

On the outside the phone is pretty boring, under the hood there’s also not much exciting going on. There is a fairly modest 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor available with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage memory. The latter can moreover be expanded with a memory card.

The only remarkable thing about this budget handset is the camera. There is on the back is to establish a 16-megapixel camera that make very nice pictures are. Also selfies look fine with the 5 megapixel camera on the front.

Software

Both inside and outside Moto G4 Plus not a very striking camera. Is there something special about the software? Not really. The device uses Android version 6.0 with only a very slight adjustment from Motorola itself. There are some Motorola appjes on the device, but also provides the almost standard Android experience as designed by Google.

The performance is also called good. All system operations run smoothly and without hitches. The loading times, for example graphically intense games can be a little on the long side if you are used to a stronger unit, but there is to do it all, however.

One of the new features in Android 6, universal support fingerprint sensors, is also available on this phone, thanks to the sensor. This is among other things possible to unlock the device, which works very smoothly and reliably.

Price and similar devices

So far, so a normal Android phone, albeit one with a good camera. The real surprise is in the price. The device is to get from 269 euros, which is a great price for such a solid unit.

The main competitor in this price category is the Nexus 5X LG. This is around 250 euro for sale and offers similar specifications and a “real” pure Android experience.

Conclusion

For those looking for a decent Android phone without too much finery Moto G4 Plus is an excellent choice. It’s not a very exciting phone, but it does what it needs to do and does not cost a huge fortune
