The girl was bullied by the photos, which they did not actually was depicted on. It was unclear who was behind the account. The victim’s mother went to court to force Instagram States to share this information.
The court decided Tuesday that the interests of the victim outweighs the privacy interest of the account holder. Moreover, the judge decided that Dutch law applies even if Instagram based in the US.
