There were still sold 1.6 million Apple Watches in the second quarter of 2016, market researcher IDC reported Friday. A year earlier, in the quarter that appeared Apple Watch, 3.6 million copies were sold.
Apple does hold the top position in the smartwatch market with a share of 47 percent. Samsung is second with 0.6 million copies sold and 16 percent market share.
Lenovo (creator Moto-smart watches), LG and Garmin are found in the top five. They all saw their sales rise in the past year, already covered the absolute sales of smart watches are still in the non alongside sales of smartphones and tablets.
Fashion
In total in sold the second quarter, 3.5 million smart watches. That’s 32 percent less than the year before.
“Every manufacturer has challenges when it comes to fashion and functionality,” said IDC analyst Jitesh Ubrani. “And although we expect improvements next year, is likely to remain limited growth in the rest of 2016.”
According to IDC were makers of traditional watches can provide a boost in terms of design and functionality.
