President Jan Engelen of the Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research made the names of the winners Friday in the Amsterdam Red Hat released.

Huck is a professor of physical organic chemistry and focuses on research into the physical, chemical and biological processes that occur in human cells.

Netea is professor of experimental internal medicine and carries out research into how the immune system recognizes microorganisms.

History

Nauta is professor of history of philosophy and combines linguistic, historical and philosophical insights, including the place of humanism in the history of Western philosophy.

Be active in technical physics and leading physicist in the field of electricity transmission by quantum structures.

the NWO Spinoza Prize is the highest award in Dutch science. NWO has annual premiums to three or four in the Netherlands, active researchers by international standards are among the absolute top of science.

The laureates will each receive 2.5 million euros to spend on research.
