Acer introduces the V9800 UHD 4K home cinema projector that can provide a 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution and, if claims business, huge color gamut. The V9800 is equipped with a TI processor 4K DMD and must guarantee more than 8 million pixels – four times the resolution of a 1080p full HD projector. In addition, the super-resolution video engine should ensure that content with a lower resolution can be engrave upscaled to a higher image quality.
The V9800 follows the Rec 709 protocol drawn up by the International Telecommunication Union for high-definition television. Rec 709 specification defines the digital color identity during production, so that the desired visual feel of the film can be detected and decoded by a compatible projector. The new Acer also features the standard sRGB mode to ensure consistency and a high contrast, while deviations in the color temperature should be eliminated during play.
The projector is also equipped with Acer’s Color Purity technology and ventilation must be guaranteed 20 dBA for low noise. The exact specifications, pricing and availability vary by region.
