Google processes sharper satellite photos in Maps and Earth – NU.nl

The pictures are taken with the satellite Landsat 8, which was put into orbit around the Earth in 2013, Google wrote Monday in a blog post.

The spacecraft of NASA and Geological Institute USGS has millions pictures of the earth. Landsat 8 hits two times faster graphics than its predecessor, the Landsat 7.

Google previously used Landsat 7, because so far made the best pictures. there were, however, by a hardware failure in 2003 diagonal stripes in the captured images, making parts of it remained blurry
