Only Apple sees sales soar PCs – WINMAG Pro

2015 was not a good year for PC sales. Apple is the only manufacturer who brought the man more computers than in 2014.

For most computer manufacturers was 2015 a year to forget. The industry experienced the worst year in seven years. Only Apple managed to sell more PCs than in 2014, according to a new report from market research firm IDC.

Worldwide in the last quarter of last year, a whopping 10.6 percent less than PCs shipped in the last three months of 2014. For the first time since 2008, the counter over a whole year was stabbing at less Over 300 million units. Virtually all manufacturers were faced with a drop , but Apple saw the number of shipped PCs in 2015 with 6.2 per cent increase compared to 2014.

Statements to depressed selling PCs

IDC mentions a number of possible explanations for the bad grades, for example, that computers last longer and that many people have enough on their smartphone or tablet. The upgrade to Windows 10 is free, allowing users of previous versions of Windows do not need to buy a new PC. External factors might also play a role, such as weak currencies and social unrest including Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Mashable incidentally sees light on the horizon. This year there are several virtual reality headsets on the market, such as the Oculus Rift. That could boost PC sales, because many of these products have a very powerful computer is needed. If virtual reality is experiencing its definitive breakthrough, which is good news for computer manufacturers.
