The American internetgigant Yahoo has a secret service in the U.S. hundreds of millions of incoming e-mails of their own customers searched, reports Reuters. The British news agency received the information from two former employees and a third adept, who all want to remain anonymous.
Yahoo would have responded to a secret request of the American government to e-mails from Yahoo accounts to scan for the NSA or FBI. The company developed a special search tool, according to Reuters.
It is not known what information the secret service exactly wanted to have. According to the informants, had to Yahoo to search for specific letter, number or other characters in a given sequence. It could also refer to a sentence can go.
